With Tourettes, the symptoms are involuntary but some people can sometimes suppress or managew their tics in an effort to minimizetheir effort on funcitoning,. Suppressing causes a great deal of tension, until the tic must be expressed.

Many have ADHD, problems with reading writing and arithmetic, and obsessive compulsive symptoms such as intrusive throughts/worries and repetitive behaviors; depression or anxiety disorders.

Diagnosis include both motor and vocal tics for a least 1 year
References :
http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/tourette/detailtourette.htm#158843231

Tic starts with moodiness and progresses to cursing at inappropriate times. yes there is facial as well as bodily twitching. Have you headachhes? See a physician Facial twitching can be caused by generalized anxiety as well. Also Belle's Palsy, tho I am in no way refering that to you.You may need an MRI, however a physician can advise you throughly.
References :
psychiatric nursing text.
