Desperate for diagnosis!!!!! (movement disorder)
This has nothing to do with self injury…..aside from the fact that I forgot my arm warmer! oh my goodness. But im covering some parts with annotations and most is not that noticeable because most of my scars on my arm are older and pale. If you think you will be triggered, dont watch this. But it barely shows.
This is about showing what my movement disorder is and what I deal with.
There is so little information out there about this kind of movement. It’s probably a tic disorder, but my movements dont look like the ones that are commonly described. I wish I could find a video with movements of this nature…..so…this is a video for those like me….this is a video about it for them
My appointment is Friday. Cross your fingers for me.

I understand the freak feeling. I say that I’m a defective freak.
I try to tell myself that everyone has something that goes wrong with their bodies, the difference for us is that it’s obvious for others to see.
I read that it often fades before adulthood. I dont know what to say….yeah…this is hard. ;(

thank you for sharing it. but i gotta tell you- it freaked the living crap outa me. i had tics really bad for a coupla yrs in childhood and thru months of everyperson in my life having to tell me when i did things i got things under control. its all coming back and its getting outa control, and to fight to think n control just leaves me agitated and having phantom pain in my body. i am turning into a freak

I’ve heard several references say that the side effects of the meds are worse than the tics, but I havent been able to find out what those side effects are. Do you know?

My brother doesn’t …
My brother doesn’t currently take medicine for his tic as the side effects can be worse and even dangerous. However, he does take medicine for his OCD, Bipolar( I do as well), and his learning disabilities. His tics get worse under stress and social pressure. And for everyone who’s been talking about involuntarily shouting words, its not TS its a common co-morbid disorder called coporalia. Just in case anyone was unaware, its interesting. I had two EEG’s just to be sure
The first indicated that I dont have epilepsy

hm..my first thought was of tourettes, too, but if you count that out, my second thought would be of some kind of epilepsy. Some people can feel a seizure coming. did your neurologist made an EEG while you had these spasms?….but, well i don’t really know… i’ll wait for friday and keep my fingers crossed

hmm…..I actually never knew what the symptoms of Tetanus were, but I got my shots against that, so I’m immune.

I hope you’ll get good news about getting cured. That experience must be awful. I hope you don’t have that desease called Clostridium Tetani wich is developed by getting in to a wound. I don’t know much about Tetanus I just read about it some while ago and it causes symptoms that you have. I hope you have some better news than Tetanus.

Well, as I said I’m not a professional. I just was told, that the vocal tics, like using vulgar words in public are a not so common. It’s what everyone knows, but a friend of mine was diagnosed with tourette and I never heard vocal tics. Well, I don’t know. And I don’t wanna sound like I’d knew it better, I just wanted to say what I know and maybe I’m totally wrong. If so, I’m sorry for spreading wrong informations.
