Amphetamines have been known to make tics worse in patients with Tourette's syndrome. Adderall is a mixed amphetamine product indicated to treat ADD/ADHD. Yes, they can cause loss of appetite as well. In a clinical setting, a doctor will need to weigh the risks vs. benefits of this type of treatment. In some cases, it may be appropriate. There are "non" stimulating drugs for ADHD also, like Strattera. Check out the article below for more on ADHD drugs.
References :
http://hubpages.com/hub/PRESCRIPTION-DRUGS-FOR-ADHD
