Gait Problems - An Update
I recently over did things. I am now experiencing more problems with my walking and have had to curtail how far I walk and how often I do it. This videos shows some of my gait problems. The strange thing is I have noticed that if I walk backwards the muscles in my legs do not seem to spasm and I can walk freely. May be this proves it is all in my head? Or it may indicate that I have a form of action induced dystonia?

Tourettes Syndrome Head and shoulder Tics
My son has been diagnosed with Tourettes Syndrome. There is so much misinformation still about this disorder. People think it is all about saying a “word” or making funny noises. Severin has a very common tic for Tourettes, head jerking or rolling. It is very difficult for him to concentrate, the constant damage to his cervical spine causes headaches and other problems. In this video you can see several instances of head jerking or rolling, along with shoulder shrugging, and some wrist flexing and facial tics as well. I have other videos that isolate the facial tics, and hand and wrist tics.
Severins first tic was a swipe across the head with his hand, and that was followed very quickly by throat clearing. His tics first appeared at age 5, but I did not notice anything until he was 7. We took him to various doctors for the various problems but they all said the same thing, they it is a tic, it will go away. Nobody every said, “does he have any other tics?” I did not put it together until this JUNE, 2009. He will be 9 years old soon.

Infant Spasms @ 6 months
This is my son who is 6 months old. We have just found out he has infantile spasms, which is a form of seizure that can cause developmental delays and cerebral palsy. It may not be easy to diagnose, as it looks like a tic disorder, or GERD in babies. The eyes roll upward, but not in the back of the head. This is a deceiving disorder, because it doesnt show all of the symptoms of a seizure right away. If you suspect your child has this, please go to a pediatric hospital or get help from a pediatric neurologist right away. The faster they catch these seizures, the less damage they will do. Doctors have given us hope, but the Outcome is still to be decided, please keep us in prayer.
