A personal, uplifting story of Joe Roback, who lives with Bipolar Disorder. Joe has had a strong recovery and attends Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada. He is an avid chess player, musician and volunteers with many mental health organizations.

Brent is a committed mental health advocate, public speaker and outdoor enthusiast who is in his final year of business school at Simon Fraser University.

Taylor is a passionate mental health advocate, public speaker and outdoor enthusiast and holds a BA in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University.

On Oct. 11, 2009 over 250 walkers joined the MHANJ at Johnson Park in Piscataway NJ to promote the importance of emotional wellness for ALL New Jerseyans. The money raised from this 5k walk helps the MHANJ to continue to fight the stigma that surrounds mental health issues through advocacy, education, training and services. Be sure to join us next year for this great event.

That is the message of this advocacy video created by the Mental Health ociation in New Jersey and Collaborative Support Programs in NJ. Through individual testimony, consumers of mental health services tell their story and explain the critical role NJs Community Mental Health System has played in their recovery. They speak of their experiences with depression, anxiety and schizophrenia and how they were successfully treated. Today, they are going to school, maintaining employment, and are reconnected with their families.
We cannot let NJs fiscal crisis threaten funding for these vital services that work.
