My health teacher Mr. Perez gave us an assignment. It was to underline words in the definitions of each vocabulary word to make an acronym. But it’s hard to find the acronyms in the definitions. Here are the vocabulary words and the definitions:
Health-the combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being.
Wellness- an overall state of well-being, of total health.
Prevention-practicing health and safety habits to remain free of disease and injury.
Health education- the providing of accurate health information to help people make healthy choices. Health People 2010- A nationwide health promotion and disease prevention plan designed to serve as a guide for improving the health of all people in the United States.
Health literacy- A person’s capacity to learn about and understand basic health information and services and use these resources to promote his or her health and wellness. I mean to say is that I have to underline specific words in the definitions of each vocabulary word to make up an acronym. But the acronyms have to be health related.

Take any phrase that is health-related and turn it into an abbreviation. for example, well-being becomes WB.

Mental Health Retreats?

Has anyone ever been to Health Retreat Australia?…here’s the link http://www.healthretreataustralia.com/emotional_wellness_retreat.html

If so what was it like and did you find it helpful? If not do you know of any other health retreats somewhere? In my research this was the best I could find for what I am looking for. Problem is it’s far away and expensive. Although I’ve always wanted to go to Australia. Haha. I think it would be cool if I could find a retreat like one in Aussie that lasts like a month or two! I’d love that.

Anyways, here’s what I am looking for. I am 24 and trying to finish up college. I’m almost done but second guessing my major and career choice. I feel a little lost in pretty much every aspect of life and I feel a little scattered. I feel like I could use a mental health retreat to just get away from things, as well as, to be some place where people can help me figure things out.

Anyone been in this position? Have suggestions or resources?

intuitivementoring.com they are doing a retreat in colorado that sounds like it is just what you need, and it is affordable. YOu can stay for one day or the weekend.

Are these definitions fair?

So I’m helping out a to-be nutritionist and personal trainer to write up some information that she will pass on to her clients. I’m in charge of writing a portion of it. Any one willing to correct me, please do so.

Here are some definitions we both came up with. A bit basic, though leaning towards her instruction, but also somewhat eccentric??? Idk

Physical Education
The knowledge, skills, capacity, values, and enthusiasm acquired to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Physical Fitness
Ability of your body systems to together work efficiently, meaning activity with the least amount of effort. Physically fit

Health / Wellness
The state of complete physical, mental, and social-being as well as the absence of illness or injury

Social
A characteristic of life referring to interactions with others, whether voluntary or involuntary, and its collective co-existence.

Intellectual
The faculty of reasoning and understanding objectively with regards to abstract or academic matters.

Physical
Of the body involving activity, related to the operation of its natural forces.

Emotional
State of mind, associated with a variety of feelings, thoughts, and behavior.

Spiritual
In relation to the human spirit or soul, assciated with religion and the development of the inner life and self. (?)

Nutrition
Providing nourishment for growth and energy, required for sustained physical and mental activity.

Activity and Exercise
Body action and movement for physical development or enhacing health.

Rest and Recovery
Cease bodily action and movement for the purpose of relaxation or energy recovery.

Pardon is some of this makes no sense. As I already said, she mostly describes them this way and so it may be leaning more towards her method of teaching. Anyways, any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!
Thanks, but no thanks.
I do believe in natural remedies, but this is a report we are writing on the basics to Health and Wellness, which revolves around Exercise, Nutrition and Rest, which we consider the elements to a complete state of physical fitness.
